About The Birdie Report

Real golf equipment reviews from a real golfer. No corporate sponsorships, no BS marketing speak—just honest takes on what works and what doesn't.

Hey, I'm Brad

I'm a 38-year-old software engineer from Austin, Texas, and I have a serious problem: I'm addicted to golf gear. My garage looks like a Golf Galaxy exploded in it, and my credit card statement reads like a PGA Tour pro shop receipt.

But here's the thing—I'm not scratch golfer. I'm a legit 15-handicap who's been chasing that magical round where everything clicks for the past decade. I've tested probably $50,000 worth of clubs, balls, rangefinders, and gadgets in pursuit of those sweet, sweet birdies.

After years of reading reviews that felt like they were written by robots or sponsored by manufacturers, I decided to start The Birdie Report. This is golf equipment reviews for real golfers, by a real golfer who actually sucks at golf (but is getting better, slowly).

I buy everything with my own money. I test it for months, not days. And if something is garbage, I'll tell you it's garbage. If it genuinely helped me hit it straighter or putt better, I'll tell you that too.

Our Mission

To provide honest, practical golf equipment reviews that actually help average golfers improve their games and make smarter purchasing decisions. No fluff, no corporate influence, just real insights from someone who plays the game like you do.

How We Test Equipment

We Buy Our Own Gear

Every club, ball, and gadget is purchased with our own money. No freebies, no sponsored content.

Real-World Testing

Minimum 2-3 months of actual play before writing a review. Range sessions and on-course performance both matter.

Honest Opinions

If something sucks, we'll tell you. If it's amazing, we'll tell you. No sugar-coating, no marketing fluff.
