PXG Drops New Stick'em Forged Wedges — Are They Worth $199?

PXG just dropped the Stick’em Forged Wedges, and I have to give them credit — “Stick’em” is an objectively great wedge name. Marketing team earned their paycheck on that one.

But names don’t get up-and-down from a buried lie. Let’s talk about what actually matters.

What’s Under the Hood

The Stick’em wedges are triple-forged from 8620 soft carbon steel. For the non-gear-nerds: forging once is standard, forging three times refines the grain structure further, giving you a softer, more consistent feel at impact. It’s the difference between a good steak and a great steak — same cut, better preparation.

PXG went with a clean, tour-inspired profile here. No chunky soles, no weird visual distractions. Just a wedge that looks like a wedge. I appreciate that.

Two Sole Grinds

This is where it gets interesting. PXG is offering two options:

BP-Grind: 13 degrees of bounce with a wider sole. This is your “I play on soft turf and need the club to glide through sand” option. If you have a steeper attack angle or play courses where the turf is lush, this is probably your grind.

The other option (details still filtering in) appears to be a lower-bounce, more versatile grind for firmer conditions and players who like to manipulate the face.

Having two grind options at launch is smart. Not everyone plays the same courses or has the same swing, and wedge fitting is wildly underrated. Most amateurs just grab a 56-degree off the rack and wonder why they can’t spin it.

The Price

Chrome finish: $199 Xtreme Dark finish: $219

That’s… actually reasonable for PXG. If you’ve been following them, you know their early reputation was “great clubs, absurd prices.” They’ve been steadily coming back to earth, and $199 for a forged wedge is competitive. For context:

  • Titleist Vokey SM10: ~$180
  • TaylorMade Hi-Toe 3: ~$180
  • Cleveland RTX 6 ZipCore: ~$160
  • Callaway Jaws Raw: ~$180

So you’re paying a slight premium over the big names, but you’re getting triple-forged construction and PXG’s build quality. Not a bad trade.

Who Should Care

If you’re in the market for new wedges and you like:

  • Buttery soft feel (the triple-forging really does make a difference)
  • Clean, no-nonsense aesthetics
  • A brand that’s been quietly earning respect on Tour

…then the Stick’em wedges deserve a look.

If you’re happy with your current Vokeys or Hi-Toes, there’s nothing here that should make you panic-swap. But if it’s time for new wedges anyway, add these to your fitting list.

The Bottom Line

PXG continues to evolve from “luxury brand for rich guys” to “legitimate equipment company that makes really good stuff.” The Stick’em Forged Wedges look like another step in that direction.

The name alone might be worth the price of admission. Imagine telling your buddy you stuck it to three feet with your Stick’em. It practically writes itself.
